Qualifi Level 7 International Diploma In Occupational Health and Safety Management

The level 7 International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management is a qualification for aspiring health and safety professionals. It is aimed at learners who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures on a day-to-day basis in an organisation. They are likely to be managers looking to improve their knowledge and skills. The Diploma is designed to provide learners with the expertise required to undertake a career as a health and safety manager and it also provides a sound basis for progression to postgraduate study.

This Course is Suitable For?

  • To study this qualification you must meet one of the following:

    • A minimum of a Level 5/6 qual in a ESC course or related sector (or)
    • Bachelor’s in engineering degree (or)
    • Master’s in engineering degree (or)
    • A minimum of 3 years’ managerial work experience which demonstrates current and relevant industry knowledge (or)
    • NVQ Diploma Level 5/6 (or)*
    • European Safety Council’s Int Diploma in HSE endorsed by Qualifi (or)
    • NEBOSH International Diploma

Course Duration

18 months are available to complete this qualification. Extension are provided to complete the qualification if learner has not completed in 18 months. The average time to complete this qualification is 6 months.

Is the Qualification Recognized ?

Learner’s should mention European Safety Council to the ‘Agent’ field on the online application form, so University of Portsmouth can recognise you as an ESC applicant and apply 60 credits. Don’t forget to upload your Qualifi level 7 Int’l Diploma in OHSM certificate.

Exam

There is no examination for this qualification. There are 4 modules in this qualification. There will be a set of questions in each unit. Learners are expected to answer the questions in each unit and send the documents in email to the assessor.

Candidates are expected to apply their work experience, research and synthesis information from various sources and prepare answers for the questions and send to assessor for review.

 

Assessor will examine all the answers for each module and will provide feedback to the candidates. If assessor is not satisfied with an answer, then based on assessor feedback, the learner will rectify their work and send for review again. This is a cyclic process and once learner meets the assessment criteria, then the assessor will mark the module as successfully completed. Learners need not worry about the rework as that is how each learner will progress in this qualification through feedback and correction.

Once the candidate successfully completes all the four units, they will be awarded certificate parchments.

Course Contents

Module 1: Management-Driven, Risk-Based Safety Management Systems (150 hrs)

Module 2: Globalization, Sustainability and Safety Culture Performance (150 hrs)

Module 3: Digitalization and Incident Investigation (150 hrs)

Module 4: Development as a Strategic Manager. (150 hrs)

Each unit has a guided learning study time of 150 hours.

Entry Requirement

To study this qualification you must meet one of the following:

  • A minimum of a Level 5/6 qual in a ESC course or related sector (or)

Progression

Recognised as prior learning by Portsmouth University the Qualifi Level 7 international diploma in Occupational Health & Safety will allow access to a full MSc within this UK university. A reduction of 60 credits will be applied and a reduction of fees also. The full MSc at Portsmouth is 180 credits so only 120 will be required.
